Visiting the Doctor...

So yesterday I woke up with an intense throbbing pain in my mouth and the left side of my face and neck was swollen. Off to the doctor I went. Turns out that I have a triple infection. Both of my wisdom teeth are absessed, my parotid-(sp?) gland in my left cheek is infected, and I have an ear infection on the left side. Lovely. The good news is that I tested negative for strep :) So now I'm on a high dose of both ibprofen and an antibiotic. I'm starting to feel a little better, though the pain is still there, it's not as bad as it was. I basically just sleep all the time now.

In other news, the family who owns the bunny told us that we can have him this weekend. :) YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY! Needless to say I'm a little excited.

So that's the news from the home front. I'm off to go eat some soup, take some more medicine, and sleep until I have to go to work. Have a great week!

I Knew Something Was Up...

When I slept for 13 1/2 hours yesterday. I woke up this morning with a horribly aching jaw and a funny taste in my mouth. The aching jaw is due to the fact that my 3rd wisdom tooth is attempting to come in partially under my last molar. The entire gum area back there is all swollen red and my molar is ripping away from the gum line--ouch. And that funny taste this morning, that was blood. So I can't chew anything on that side and the whole left side of my face aches. Tylenol isn't helping, and I can't take Motrin. Grrrrrr. Add to that the fact that it hurts to swollow because my throat is sore, but I can't determine if I'm getting sick or if it's just from the constant irritation of the blood trickling down my throat. Only 1 more month before I get these damn teeth out.

In other news, we had to give the bunny back to his owners yesterday :( I miss him. I mentioned to the mom that he had a cold that needed to be taken care of ASAP and that his nails needed to be clipped. She told me that she didn't care enough about him to take him to the vet. I told her again that we're willing to take him, she told her kids that I was gonna steal their bunny and they'd never see it again. Not sure where that came from, but whatever. So now the kids are upset with me, even though I never intended to steal the bunny. I offered him a better home, that's all.

So that's the news from the arctic...errr...Upper Michigan. Have a great week everybody!

Introducing...

The cutest, most adorable, furry little bunny...Annikan!

And as a side note, today is the 3 year anniversary for Brian and I. We aren't doing anything special, just chillin out, doing homework, and hangin with Annikan.

Ahhhh....Relaxation.

Today was the BEST day ever, simply because I didn't DO anything. Not that I'm lazy or anything. Wednesday I cleaned for 4 hours....the apartment was spotless *grins* Thursday I dragged myself out of bed so that I was presentable for when my mom showed up. She was just stopping by on her way to my grandma's. She dropped some stuff off, chatted for a little while, and then headed on her way. I ate some breakfast and sometime in the early afternoon I started cooking. We decided to for-go the turkey because 1) There was only 3 of us and 2) Nobody wanted to cook it. Instead we had stuffed cornish hen, and of course, all of the other Thanksgiving fixings to go with it.

We stuffed ourselves, the man watched a football game on tv and then played a football game on the PS2. I was wiped out around 8pm though, somehow I managed to stay up until 3:00am with the man. Then I fell into bed and didn't move until 11:30 this morning. The man did all of the dishes from the Thanksgiving meal, which I was very thankful for. Then we just kind of laid around, played some video games, and played with the bunny-(we're bunny sitting right now). We did walk down to the bank to get some quarters and then we went to the local coffee shop to get some chai and hot cocoa. The only other thing we did was rent to movies from the video store.

So yes, a good relaxing day for both of us. :) It was nice, we needed it. I will post a picture of the bunny sometimes, since I got a really awesome digital camera for my birthday-(*read* a $400 digital camera). We're both in love with the bunny, and we told the people who own the bunny that if they ever want to get rid of him, we'll take him! The people who own him don't really take care of him well at all. He's in his cage 6 out of 7 days a week, the kids torture him, and they're just not good bunny caretakers. So we're both kind of hoping that they'll just let us keep him. And he now officially has a name, which he hasn't had since they brought him home from the pet store in July. We named him Anikan, little Ani. :)

So I hope you all have a great weekend!

I'm Awesome!

It's 8am and I've already been up for 3 hours. Needless to say I'm a bit tired, because I usually don't roll out of bed until 8:45am. Anyways, this is the story of my day so far:

I woke up at 5, got ready, waited for the man to get home from work at 5:35, and then ran out the door to get to work by 5:45. I got to work and all of the lights in the house were off, I figured that my boss was in the upstairs bathroom getting ready so I let myself in with my key and let the dog out in the yard. I turned on some lights and laid down on the couch to study for a bit. Around 6am, I heard the pitter patter of C's little feet coming down the stairs. She hopped onto the couch with me and I asked her if her mom was in the shower. She told me no, mom was gone and that's why I was there. Uh-Oh.....

Now, I know the mom would NEVER leave her daughter home alone. Then it dawned on me, mom wasn't even up yet. She was supposed to leave at 5:50am. I figured she was just running late and hadn't made it downstairs yet. Well she was running late, but it was because she was still sleeping. So I sent C upstairs to wake up her mom, and I headed to the kitchen to start the coffee-(which C's mom always drinks in the morning), feed the dog, make C's lunch, and figure out something for C's breakfast. C came back downstairs and I bundled her up on the couch with a blanket and some good ol' PBS cartoons.

Fast forward about 20 minutes, the coffee is ready, C's lunch and snack are made, her back pack is packed, I've got breakfast planned, I put out an outfit for C to wear to school, and the dog is fed and was let out to use the bathroom. Mom comes flying down the stairs, takes one look at everything I've done, and tells me I'm the best babysitter she's ever had and that she never wants me to leave!

Needless to say, my ego has been inflated today :) So I guess getting up before the sun DOES have it perks! But, that being said, I'm going to go crawl into bed for an hour or so until I have class. Only 2 classes left before Thanksgiving break!!!!

Have a GREAT day everybody!!!!!!!

Psychology & Love....

To the average person, love is defined in many ways. But to the psychologist, it is defined like this:

"Love is the irrational belief that your spouse is somehow better than every other man/woman in the world."

This quote from my psychology professor launched the class into a 20 minute discussion about how that quote would make a very interesting Valentine's Day card. Seeing as how the class is only 50 minutes long, we really didn't get much done on Friday. :)

So I will leave you with this quote, which I found to be very humerous, and I wish you a great weekend!

Lay Off the Caffiene...

That's what my Dr. told me on Thursday. We all know that I'm addicted to caffiene....not as badly as my boyfriend....but about mid-afternoon I have to have some caffiene or else I crash and burn, and get really really crabby, if I don't have it. It doesn't matter what it is; coffee, redbull, pop, whatever...as long as it has caffiene in it I'm good to go for about 6 more hours after I've had it.

But alas, my Dr. informed me that caffiene causes tissue to swell and that it might have something to do with the shoulder/armpit/breast pain I've been experiencing. She has a point, when I don't drink any caffiene, there's no pain. When I do drink caffiene, there is pain. So it's a valid observation on her part, but come on! Why in the world did I have to be told this news THIS week. The week when I'm having trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. The dreams are horrendous, I'm emotional drained, and I'm still not over what happened on Tuesday. If I could, I would lay in bed all day and just stay there. But I can't, I have responsibilities to take care of. I have to work because we need the money, I have to study for the exams that my professors graciously put off until next week so that I had time to mourn and focus again.

So, lay off the caffiene...it's going to be hard, no doubt. I figure if I can cut it back to one pop a day I'll be doing good, not great..but good. Now, go figure that I drank a Dr. Pepper with lunch today and am now sucking down about 20 oz. of Faygo Diet Cola in an effort to stay awake until Midnight-Thirty when I get off of work. So, as Garfield would say, my new caffiene lacking diet will begin "tomorrow--whenever tomorrow is!

Update...

I found out today that Byron "Butch" actually died on Saturday, November 4th, 2006. Even though they did an autopsy, they couldn't determine a time of death because he was in such bad shape when he was found. They concluded that the cause of death was that an ulcer in his stomach ruptured and then he choked on his blood and died. They couldn't dress him for the funeral because the rigor mortis was so bad so it's going to be a closed casket. The funeral is on Friday.

R.I.P.

My friend was found dead in his apartment at 9am this morning. They're doing an autopsy later this week but the preliminary cause of death is that his ulcers ruptured and he bled out, then choked on his own blood. They're not sure if he died early this morning or late last night. His body was cold when it was found though. There's no funeral plans as of yet because his mom just found out at noon today. His children and ex-wife don't know yet. Please keep them all in your prayers because he loved his kids and this is not going to be easy on anybody.

It Never Ends....

My life is a never ending cycle of work and school. For that reason, I will be MIA until Sunday because as of 4pm tomorrow I will be working straight thru until 6pm on Saturday. Then I will come home, clean, do homework, and fall into bed exaughsted. So I will post on Sunday about my adventures at work :)

BTW...I told that man that I needed to know by the last week of November if he could pay me what he owes me so that I can decide if I'm going to sign another lease with him or not. That's as close to a kick in the rear end as I can summon at the moment.

Have a great rest of the week everybody!
